Strive Trading Inc. (“we”) regards the protection of your personal information as an important responsibility. We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other related laws, and handle personal information as set out below.

- About you: name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, preferred way of being contacted
- About your car: maker, model, year, type designation, chassis number, registration number (licence plate), mileage, inspection (shaken) expiry, the damage or fault, where the car is, photographs of the car
- Documents needed for procedures: identification, seal registration certificate, power of attorney, transfer certificate, inspection certificate, vehicle tax payment certificate, damage certificate (り災証明書 / risai shomeisho) and similar
- Contract and payment: bank account for transfer, contract details, whether a loan or retention of title applies, insurance status
- Your enquiry: records of consultations received by phone, email or the form

3. Purposes of use
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes.
- Answering and following up on enquiries and consultations
- Purchase, sale, brokerage and arrangement of vehicles; searching for and proposing the vehicle you want
- Asking partner purchasing and sales companies for appraisals or stock, and telling you the results
- Concluding and performing contracts, paying and receiving money, collecting and delivering vehicles
- Carrying out vehicle registration, transfer of ownership, deregistration and other procedures with administrative bodies, on your instruction (power of attorney)
- After-sales service and contact following a purchase or sale
- Information about our services (such as introducing vehicles that match your wishes)
- Creating and keeping records and verifying identity as required by the Secondhand Articles Dealer Act and other laws
- Recording the content of enquiries, and checking and improving the quality of our service
- Producing statistics in a form that does not identify individuals
If we need to use information beyond these purposes, we will obtain your consent in advance.
4. Provision to third parties
We provide personal information to third parties in the following cases.
(1) With your consent
When you ask us about selling your car, we ask several partner purchasing companies for an appraisal. What we send them is information about the car and where it is — nothing more. Your name, contact details and anything else that identifies you personally are not given to them.
If you decide to go ahead with the sale, we will ask you to show documents to the extent needed for transfer of ownership and collection. At that stage we explain what information goes where, and we act only with your consent.
The contract of sale is between you and the purchasing company. We introduce the company and handle the money — receiving it and paying you. That is why identification and similar documents are submitted to the purchasing company.
- Sent at the enquiry stage: maker, model, year, mileage, the damage or fault, and the location of the car (down to the municipality)
- Not sent: your name, address, telephone number or email address
- To whom: purchasing and sales companies we work with
(2) As required by law
- Where required by law
- Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent
- Where responding to an enquiry from a police officer under the Secondhand Articles Dealer Act
- Where cooperation with a national or local government body carrying out its legal duties is needed
5. Outsourcing
Within the scope needed to achieve the purposes above, we may outsource the following. We bind contractors by contract to handle personal information properly, and supervise them as necessary.
- Transport and storage of vehicles
- Vehicle registration and other document procedures (including work entrusted to specialists such as administrative scriveners)
- Maintenance, inspection, repair and dismantling
- Payment settlement and procedures with financial institutions
- Operation and management of servers and systems
6. Handling procedures on your behalf
On your instruction (power of attorney), we or a specialist we engage may carry out vehicle registration, deregistration, change of ownership, tax and refund procedures, and other procedures with administrative bodies.
When we do, we use personal information only within the scope needed for that procedure, and only after receiving a power of attorney and the other necessary documents. We explain what is involved and what documents are needed in advance.
7. Storage and retention period
We keep personal information for the period needed to achieve the purposes above, and for the period required by law (such as the records required under the Secondhand Articles Dealer Act). Information we no longer need to keep is promptly erased or destroyed by appropriate means.
8. Security measures
